Portals into Deep Imagination is an anthology of weekly contemplations and practices for spirituality through the lens of depth psychology, inspired by the culture and mythology of the Celts in Britain and Island and their connection with nature.
Viewing Celtic mythology through the lens of psychology may bring new meanings to our lives as we journey with nature’s year.
The book illustrates how Celtic tales, including tales of the Otherworld, offer exciting openings for understanding, including dreams, non-ordinary states of consciousness, content of the deep imagination, and a bigger Mystery of life.
Celtic myths and legends are alive with metaphor and symbolism, which is often thought to be the language of the deep imagination and is so vital to a soulful path. The dreamlike quality of myth and legend, where the boundary between fact and poetic imagination is misty, allows us to engage with them symbolically to promote insights for daily living.
When two unlikely friends—Milagro, wild and intuitive, and Niels, careful and precise—discover an old house at the edge of town, they step into a world of strange rooms, flickering shadows, and silent stories waiting to be understood. Guided only by their bond and their instincts, the children explore the House of Shadows: one room roaring with rage, another spinning with restlessness, others full of hidden hunger or fragile silence. As they journey deeper, a quiet presence begins to follow. A shadow. Growing, waiting. But some shadows don’t want to scare you—they only want to be known. Rooted in Jungian psychology and written with the tenderness of a classic children’s fable, Niels, Milagro and the House of Shadows is both a luminous story for young readers and a symbolic tale for adults who remember what it means to meet your inner world with compassion.
'The Astrologer’s Universe' is the revised and updated version of 'Astrology for Beginners' by Geoffrey Cornelius and Maggie Hyde, originally published in 1995. Stunningly illustrated courtesy of Andrea Aste, it is the ultimate time traveller’s guide through the world of astrology. From the eclipse calculations at Stonehenge to the astrological relevance of the iconic Steve Jobs, the historical context of astrology, its characters and its battles form the perfect backdrop to any astrology course, but will also entrance the casual reader.
Details on the signs, planets and elements are also covered as are the basic techniques of horary, synastry and business, transits and progressions. Covering as it does the advent of psychological astrology, with reference to Freud and Jung, it will also be of interest to psychological astrologers. It’s a small book with a huge heart, just waiting to join your bookshelf.
In astrology, the planet Venus symbolizes not only what we value, but also our sense of self-worth. This is why she plays such a vital role in love and relationship: we cannot truly unite with another unless we choose them in accordance with our values — and unless we can first recognise our own worth. When we are faced with the asteroid Psyche, we must, like the princess in the myth, carry out our own inner work in order to develop certain qualities within ourselves that will content Venus — that is, the qualities that allow us to build a relationship through which she may truly bring forth the joy and happiness she promises. Thus, this asteroid holds the key to building healthy, joyful, and fulfilling relationships — relationships in which the Self may unfold and the solar identity, our symbolic immortality, find its full expression.
Jupiter has been perceived for centuries as the ‘Greater Benefic’, and many astrologers assume that this planet will always herald good fortune, opportunities for betterment, and material and emotional rewards. Sometimes this interpretation is entirely valid. At other times it isn’t. Jupiter’s expression, in an individual life and on a collective level, is rarely simple and sometimes anything but benefic, and Jupiter transits can reveal a contradictory picture. Sometimes great opportunities arise and life is enhanced. Sometimes the transit coincides with the collapse of relationships, financial hardship, the onset of serious illness, and even death. These three seminars given by Liz Greene for CPA and MISPA students in 2021 explore the enigmatic, paradoxical, and unpredictable Jupiter to find a clearer understanding of this tricky and magical planet.
